1. Write about the concept of Human Right
Ans: Human beings by virtue of being human posses certain basic rights which are inalienable from them. These rights defines the very existence of the human being.They acquire these rights from birth. These birth rights are inherent in all human being irrespective of caste, creed, gender, location. These rights collectively are called Human Rights.

2. What are the objectives of United Nations Charter?
Ans: Objectives of the UN Charter are 
- To achieve international cooperation for solving the international problems of social, economic and humanitarian nature 
- To promote and encourage respect for Human Rights 
- To ensure fundamental freedom for all irrespective of race, sex, language or religion.

3. Name any four collective rights.
Ans: Collective rights are the rights which are exercised jointly by individuals.
- Right to Self-determination
- Right to Development
- Right to peace
- Rights of safe environment

4. How does National Human Rights Commission constitute?
Ans: Constitution of National Human Rights Commission
Section 3 of the National Human Rights Protection Act 1993 provides provision for constitution of the National Human Rights Commission. As per the section 3 the NHRC will have one chairperson, 4 members to be selected as follows:
Chairperson - A person who has been Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India
1 Member - A person who has been a supreme court judge
1 Member - A person who has been Chief Justice of a High Court
2 Members to be selected from eminent personalities who are expert in Human Rights
The Chairpersons of National Minorities Welfare Commission, National Commission for Women, National Commission for SC and National Commission for ST are automatically members of the NHRC
 
5. What is the difference between Human Rights and Fundamental Rights?
Ans: Difference between Human Rights and Fundamental Rights

6. Are the Human Rights 'a grant by the state' or are they inherent in human being? Discuss the philosophy and nature of Human Rights.
7. Write a short note on National Commission for Women.
8. Give an account of judicial activism in India with regards to upholding Human Rights.

Note: Attempt any three questions. Each question carries 20 marks



9. For the implementation of provision of covenant on Civil and Political Rights, the main instrumentality envisaged is the Human Rights Committee. Discuss composition, procedure and functioning of the committee.
10. The Directive principle of State Policy contained in part IV of the constitution aims at providing social and economic rights and welfare for all. Describe their nature and relevance to the International Covenant of Social and Economic Rights.
11. Discuss various rights enshrined in European Convention on Human Rights.
12. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights contains the general principles of law recognized by civilized nations and also an authoritative interpretation of the Charter by the General Assembly. Discuss the importance and provisions of UDHR in above reference.
13. Discuss the provisions of the International Human Rights Instruments regarding the principle of equal rights for men and women.
