1. Explain the difference between Cognizable offence and Non-cognizable offence.
2. What is Complaint? When can a report made by the police officer shall be deemed to be a complaint?
3. Differentiate between Bailable and Non-bailable offences.
4. What is summary trial?
5. Distinguish between Reference and Revision.

Note: Attempt any two question. Each question carries 10 marks

6. Explain the procedure in respect of trial of warrant cases by Magistrate instituted on Police report.
7. When, how and by whom is a confession recorded?
8. Explain provisions relating to limitation for taking cognizance of offences?

Section C
Note: Attempt any three question. Each question carries 20 marks

9. Describe the constitution and powers of various Criminal Courts according to Criminal Procedure Code< 1973.
10. Who may claim Maintenance? When is a wife not entitled to receive an allowance from her husband?
11. Discuss the Law relating to Bail. What is the basis for bail in a non-bailable case?
12. Explain the procedure of Appeal against an order of Conviction. What are the powers of an Appellate court in such appeals?
13. Write an explanatory note on any one of the following:
(a) Trial before court of session.
(b) Trial by a Magistrate in warrant case on a complaint.
